“Depth Two” film screening in Kragujevac

Depth 2 On Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 at 20:00 in the premises of the Association „Artistic and Ethic Enhancement“ (UMMUS) documentary “Depth Two” will be screened.

“Depth Two” is a low-budget, documentary Film about a mass gravesite found in Batajnica in 2001, in which the bodies of Kosovo Albanians, civilians who were killed during the war in Kosovo, were found. The Film is a combination of live testimonies and photographs of the places where these crimes were committed 17 years ago. In an attempt to identify, clarify and give voice to these stories, which have been covered by a veil of silence, the Film directly invokes events, imagination and emotions of viewers.

The Author of the film is Ognjen Glavonić, and it was produced by Non-Aligned Films and the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC). Its premiere was at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival in February 2016, following which it was also screened at the festivals in Thessaloniki and Wiesbaden, as well as in a number of cities in Serbia and in Kosovo.

The Jury of the 9th International Documentary Film Festival „Beldocs“ awarded Jelena Maksimović for the best edited documentary feature for „Depth Two“ Film because of „identifying the meaningful corelation between testimonies about a crime and a silent world of landscapes and objects, which seem as if they have remembered everything“.

The film is a part of the Batajnica Memory Initiative, aimed at creating a memorial site for victims found in Batajnica.

A discussion will be organized following the screening of the film, in which Ms. Sandra Orlović, Executive Director of the HLC, the one of the film’s producer will participate.
