Fatime Kelmendi lives in the village of Ljutoglava, in the Municipality of Peć. On May 8th, 1999, in the exodus of refugees, members of the Serbian forces opened fire on her and her family. Her son Rinor, who was 18 months old, father-in-law Qerim (91), brother-in-law Gani (51), and six other relatives were killed on this occasion. The Serbian forces took the bodies of those killed in an unknown direction. In April 2006, the family received information that the bodies of Qerim, Salime, and Gani had been found in the mass grave in Belgrade. The body of little Rinor has not been found to date.
