On the morning of 1 April 1999, members of the Yugoslav Army entered the village of Ljubenic ( Municipality of Pec). They separated over 60 men from their families and gathered them in a village street. They opened fire on the gathered men, using automated weapons. Those who survived were shot in the head. Several other men survived. The bodies of 33 of the murdered men were found in the mass grave in Batajnica. The bodies of six men have not been found yet.
